23-Aug-2008 Hey gang! We are pretty bad about putting when we get new rooms here on IB. Mostly because we figure you guys take the time to look at the doorway and see what's different. Anyway. We're going to try to highlight (once a month) rooms that were created and are visible to people. Below is the list of realms created since August 1, 2008.

Sorry for the delay in this message. Roo and Garth have been offline since July 7th or so. They are moving into a new house and have no access to the Internet to take care of things.

The site staff is aware of the error of requests not getting to them and it will be corrected when Roo & Garth get back.

All donations made in this time will be processed as soon as Roo & Garth get back.

REMINDERS
16-Jun-2008 This is just a reminder to everyone, that while Infinity Bound is a chat site that you guys like to use, we are always working on adjustments in coding and new features/options.

We work with Martin to try to iron out kinks and other issues. We also strive to find things that aren't in the code already and add them. While this means the site does go up and down at times, it also means that we take the time to make sure it works before it's released to everyone else so they do not have such a hard time with the code.

UPGRADES
15-Jun-2008 Realm owners, you can now choose to not receive your nightly statistics. To change this option go to your Chat Preferences. This is locating in the main gateway just under Who's On. Then you will scroll to the bottom and it will display Realm Stats with yes and no options. Clicking yes will send you realm statistics. Clicking no will disable statistics just to your e-mail.

Take note! By selecting no you will not get -any- realm statistics. This means if you host ROOM A and ROOM B you will get neither of their statistics.

POLICY
14-Jun-2008 The user verification and auditing is complete. Thank you to everyone who answered my e-mail.

Those of you who did not, may find yourself without an account if you have not loggeed in within the last thirty (30) days. Verification status was removed for all users I could not find the means we verified you with, or you did not respond to me with the name/email you donated to the site with. Due to the system not purging realm owners by default, verified status was also removed from realm owners that are not sponsors of the sites. (and former realm owners).

With that said, Roo has done a database backup as of today. Any user that -should- have been verified via donating to paypal, or the other arrangements made with Roo, that got removed we will restore for you. (And apologized to profusely).

Infinity Bound set the user expiration to 30 days to deter people from taking up server space just to have their handles sitting on the site. This is also to give people incentive to become sponsors, so that they not only get the luxury of never expiring, but other bonuses as well.

The realm description is now available when you hover over a realm name. If you just see the white line, then nag that realm owner to fill out their realm description in their realm settings.

POLICY
07-Jun-2008 The public realm policy has changed!

We will no longer be doing a bi-monthly average of the posts. All realms that were/wanted public status have been made public status.

We will resume to there being no post count at all, however, in order to keep your realm, you must use your realm. Realms that fall under abandonment rules will be removed from the system. This is the staff's discretion on what constitute abandonment.

All rules pertaining to your realm doorways still apply.

So if you don't use your realm, you lose your realm. If you have any questions please contact the staff.

ERRORS & FIXES
18-May-2008 If you know someone who is seeing this it means the IP address they are using has been blocked from the server.

Unfortunately due to some rather petty individuals hitting the server hard with spam and trying to access directories that they do not have permission to view we have been forced to start banning IP addresses that are coming up as proxy servers and/or come up in the database as 'spam' robots.

For those of you using proxy servers we apologize for the inconvenience but to regain access to the site you will need to find a proxy server that isn't linked to spamming, and/or use your real IP address.

POLICY
15-May-2008 REPEATED TO GET THE POINT ACROSS!

Chatter Expiration Policy:

All non-verified chatters will need to login every thirty (30) days to keep their logins active. If you do not login at least once every thirty (30) days, your login and puppets will be removed from the system. This is automatically done every night in the maintenance, and while we do keep a regular backup of the database, we will not be able to re-add you to the system. You will have to re-join the site. Users who have sponsored the site with any amount of donation are marked as verified users and this does not apply to you. Your accounts never expire.

04-May-2008 All the realms have been updated to appropriate places.

All realm requests have been answered. So if you submitted a request and there has not been an answer in the last 48 hours please contact the staff again.

Several realms were added to the hybrid realm list in the gateway.
